Karyn and Janique have worked in the medical field for several years. Karyn's expertise lies in administration and front-of-house operations, while Janique focuses on the clinical side. Their paths crossed in 2019, and they instantly bonded over their shared passion for helping people and their drive to improve the quality of care.
Together, they founded Koru Orthotics in 2020 and have been experiencing continued success. As a team, they've learned valuable lessons, championed the use of technology, and forged their own path in the orthotics industry. They have a team that goes above and beyond for their clients, and their colleagues share the same level of passion – a winning formula for their business.
Janique Lewis
Originally from South Africa, I moved to New Zealand in 2016. After building on my experience in the public sector for several years, I joined Karyn in 2020 to co-found Koru Orthotics.
My young family keeps me busy on weekends, but I'm always on the lookout for innovative gadgets and clever designs that can improve our clients' daily lives.
Karyn Bainbridge
With a career dedicated to healthcare administration and management, primarily in the private sector, I've had the privilege of working with incredible people who have been my mentors. Now, I relish the challenges and rewards of running my own business. The best part of my job is meeting new people every day.
As a keen runner who's conquered a few half marathons, I'm always looking forward to the next one (injuries permitting). As a proud mum of three grown children, I travel to cheer them on in their chosen sports whenever possible.

Elrie Mostert
Taking a leap of faith in 2018, we traded our South African life for a New Zealand adventure – it was one of the best decisions ever! I began by working for a Christchurch orthotics company serving the public sector. and in 2022, the fantastic opportunity arose to join the Koru team permanently. It's a joy working with a team that truly values its patients and collaborates closely with healthcare professionals. When I'm not at work, my young family keeps me busy, and recently, I've added "football mum" to my weekly routine. I also love reading, getting creative, and exploring nature – on foot or by mountain bike. It's an honour to be part of your healing journey!
Amy Doidge
After dedicating eight years to motherhood, I joined Koru Orthotics in early 2024, taking on an administrative role. This is my first venture into the orthotics field. Before Koru Orthotics, I gained valuable experience working in psychometric assessment for recruitment at a professional services firm in London. Upon returning to New Zealand, I worked for a software development company before starting my family. Now, my free time is filled with keeping up with my two energetic daughters and cherishing family moments.

"I can't say enough about the exceptional support and treatment I recently received from Janique and the team at Koru Orthotics. Two years ago, a serious meniscus tear in my right knee from a caving injury, followed by complete surgical removal, left me struggling to continue tramping and general walking – activities I truly enjoy.
After a year with minimal exercise and limited success from my knee surgeon, he recommended Koru Orthotics. Janique has been incredible. She took the time to understand not only my knee issues and walking problems but also my goals for improvement. I appreciated her thorough explanation of different knee brace options, including the pros and cons of each. During the assessment and subsequent advice, I learned that my orthotic shoe soles needed replacing. Janique provided excellent support throughout this process, including a 3D foot scan to facilitate replacements.
Janique's professionalism impressed me. I felt at ease immediately, and both she and Karyn at reception were incredibly friendly. The custom knee brace, ordered from Europe, arrived in under three weeks – very impressive!
